The lamination process completed by various materials and equipment can be divided into several categories according to the temperature and purpose of the raw materials (consumables) used. The following categories will be introduced.

Cold mounting: The method of mounting a protective film on the surface of an image using cold pressing at room temperature is called cold mounting. There are also single-sided mounting and double-sided mounting. In terms of operation methods, there are also manual peeling and self peeling film mounting. The cold lamination process has the characteristics of simple operation, good effect, and low cost. Widely used in the post production of advertising lightboxes, engineering drawings, and wedding photography.

Hot lamination
The mounting method of specialized hot film on equipment heated to a certain temperature (about 100-180 ° C) is called hot mounting, which can be divided into single-sided hot mounting and double-sided hot mounting. Due to its good light transmittance and waterproof properties, good heat resistance, and strong hardness, it is suitable for post production of advertising images relying on lighting or other occasions. However, hot laminating equipment and consumables are relatively expensive, with complex operations, high energy consumption, and high costs.

Similar to hot lamination, but generally miniaturized. The largest size of plastic packaging equipment on the market is 24 inches, which is packaged using special plastic film heating. It is mainly used for packaging documents, small-sized images or documents.
