When Using Films Of Different Materials (such As PE, PP, PET, Etc.) On A Hot Roller Laminating Machine, How Should The Operating Parameters (temperature, Pressure, Speed) Be Adjusted?

PE film
Temperature: PE film has a low melting point, generally between 110℃ - 130℃. The temperature can be set within this range during laminating, and it needs to be fine-tuned according to the thickness of the film. Thinner PE films can appropriately lower the temperature to prevent the film from melting and deforming; thicker films can slightly increase the temperature to ensure that the film and the substrate are fully bonded.

Pressure: PE film is soft in texture and requires relatively small pressure, usually between 0.2 - 0.4MPa. Excessive pressure can easily cause the film to wrinkle, affecting the laminating effect.
Speed: The speed can be moderate, generally between 5 - 8m/min. Too fast speed may cause the film and the substrate to not fit tightly, while too slow speed will affect production efficiency.

PP film
Temperature: The melting point of PP film is higher than that of PE film, about 160℃ - 180℃. The temperature needs to be set within this range during lamination so that the PP film can effectively soften and bond to the substrate. For PP films with special surface treatment, the temperature may need to be adjusted appropriately.
Pressure: Since the PP film has good stiffness, the pressure can be set at 0.3 - 0.5MPa to ensure that the film fits tightly to the substrate and eliminate defects such as bubbles.
Speed: The speed can be slightly faster than that of PE film, at 6 - 10m/min. However, pay attention to the lamination quality to avoid poor lamination caused by too fast speed.

PET film
Temperature: PET film has good thermal stability and a high melting point, generally at 220℃ - 240℃. The temperature needs to be raised to this range during lamination so that the PET film can be well bonded to the substrate without being damaged.
Pressure: PET film has high strength, and the pressure can be between 0.4 and 0.6 MPa, ensuring that the film is firmly bonded to the substrate without causing damage to the film.
Speed: The speed can be adjusted according to actual production conditions, generally between 5 and 10 m/min. Due to the characteristics of PET film, the speed can be appropriately adjusted within a wide range, but the lamination quality still needs to be guaranteed.
