Insufficient vacuum in a wide-format laminating machine directly affects lamination quality, leading to problems such as poor adhesion, air bubbles, and positional deviations. The following systematically analyzes common causes and troubleshooting steps, combining equipment structure and operational experience.

I. Common Causes of Insufficient Vacuum
Air System Blockage or Leakage: The vacuum pump inlet, air lines, or connections may be blocked by dust or glue residue, or the lines may be aged and cracked, leading to air leaks; blockage of the air passage reduces the vacuum pump's suction efficiency, preventing it from reaching the set vacuum level.
Vacuum Pump Malfunction: Loose or broken vacuum pump belts, insufficient motor speed, and wear and aging of internal pump components (such as blades and seals) will reduce the pump's suction capacity, directly resulting in insufficient vacuum.
Manual Valve Not Fully Closed: If the manual valve is not tightened and sealed during operation, or if the manual valve seal is damaged, external air will enter the vacuum system through the manual valve, reducing the vacuum level.
Film Roll Installation Problems: If the film roll is not correctly placed on the vacuum adsorption platform, or if there is too large a gap between the film roll and the platform, air leakage will occur in the vacuum adsorption area, causing localized insufficient vacuum.
Environmental Factors: High humidity (>60%) or low temperature (<10℃) in the working environment can lead to condensation in the air passage (high humidity) or affect the viscosity of the vacuum pump oil (low temperature), both of which reduce vacuum efficiency.

II. Troubleshooting Steps and Solutions
Check the Air System: Turn off the equipment power, remove the air lines, and use compressed air to blow out the inside of the lines to remove blockages; check if the pipe connections are loose or cracked, and replace seals or pipes if necessary; pay special attention to the vacuum pump inlet filter, cleaning or replacing it if blocked. Required tools include a compressed air gun, an Allen wrench for removing connections, and a seal replacement kit. Testing vacuum pump performance: Start the equipment and observe whether the vacuum pump runs smoothly and without abnormal noises (such as grinding sounds). If the pump body is too hot (>60℃), it may be due to belt slippage or motor overload; after stopping the machine, check the belt tension and adjust it to a state where it can be pressed down by 10-15mm. If the belt is broken, replace it. Required tools: thermometer, belt tension meter.
Checking the status of manual valves: Turn the manual valve to the fully closed position and listen for any air leaks (such as a hissing sound); if there is a leak, remove the manual valve and check if the sealing ring is aged or deformed, and replace it if necessary. Required tools: manual valve wrench, sealing ring.
Adjusting film roll installation: Ensure that the center axis of the film roll is aligned with the vacuum adsorption platform, with a gap of no more than 2mm; if the film roll is too thick, adjust the platform height or replace with a suitable film roll. Required tools: spirit level, film roll thickness gauge.
Optimizing environmental conditions: Use a dehumidifier to maintain the humidity at 40%-60% to prevent condensation in the air passage; if the ambient temperature is too low, preheat the vacuum pump (run it for 10 minutes before formal operation). Required tools: hygrometer, dehumidifier.

III. Preventive Maintenance Suggestions
Daily cleaning: Wipe the vacuum platform with a soft cloth after each operation to remove glue residue; Regular maintenance: Replace the vacuum pump oil and clean the oil filter every 3 months, and check the air pipeline sealing every 6 months; Operation specifications: Avoid rough handling when installing the film roll to prevent damage to the platform or manual valves.
